Fan Questions For the Group

Fan questions for the group we received this past month. We thought it would be better to post in the blog so that all the fans of Janie Bolitho could help answer the questions. Below are three emails from two different fans that could use some help answering:

Hi. I am looking to buy the novels from the Ian Roper series either new or second hand. I have picked up 4 of them for a reasonable price second hand on ebay. I was just wondering if you or your members have any of them for sale. I was also wondering if this series should be read in the order they were written, or are they each just separate stories solved by detective Ian Roper? Thank you.

Subject: Ian Roper series availability

Hi. My mother has just finished reading the Rose Trevelyan series which she thoroughly enjoyed. She is now wanting to read the Ian Roper series. I am finding it extremely difficult to find the Ian Roper series new, even though the Rose Trevelyan series can be found just about anywhere. Is there a reason for this as far as you know? Apart from Amazon, do you know of anywhere I might find the Ian Roper series new? I am in Melbourne, Australia. Thanks.

Thank you Julie for your two emails. We have posted your questions here so that all of our fellow fans may be able to answer you more accurately than I. Good luck on your search. I know that the Ian Roper series is no longer available anywhere in our local libraries anymore and are very hard to obtain on Amazon. Too bad her family couldn’t petition her former publishers to re-publish all of her stories in eBook format that all of us around the world could get copies.

Dear Janie Bolitho Fansite, Janie Bolitho is my favourite author and I own all seven of her Rose Trevelyan books. I’ve just started reading the Loveday Ross Cornish Mysteries by Rena George and discover they are a pastiche of the Janie Bolitho series. Do you know if Rena George has openly expressed where her inspiration came from or if it is mere coincidence? Thank you very much. Best wishes, Wendy

Thanks so much Wendy for your email. I haven’t read any of Rena George’s stories but you might want to contact her directly with your question. Her website has a Contact information page: http://renageorge.com/index.php/contact/

If you can help answer the questions above use our CONTACT US form and we will post the answers in our next blog post. If you are a subscriber to this blog you should be able to post your answers in the comments section below. Yes, we would also love to receive some fan fiction stories about any of the characters in the Janie Bolitho story lines. So get writing people and start sharing!

Till next time.

Christmas in Cornwall

Christmas in Cornwall England could be a great fantasy vacation for all of us fellow Janie Bolitho Fans. From the pictures I have seen on the web it looks like a great place to spend a little time by the sea. As with our favorite author’s stories we, as fans, would like to walk the streets and experience the place where a lot of her stories were featured. She still has lots of fans from all over the world and in the coming year we would love to hear more from you! Anyone living or visiting Cornwall this holiday season we hope you will share your pictures of the area too.

We’ve Got a New Do

CornwallEngland10Good morning my fellow Janie Bolitho fans! We have made some changes to the website with a fresh new look and layout. It’s supposed to be more modern looking and we hope you like it. We are still looking for fan-fiction with either Ian Roper or Rose Trevelyan and their cohorts featured in the story someway. It doesn’t have to be any great length so long as it has a beginning, middle and end we would love to share it with our fellow readers. If you have some fan-art you would like to share we would welcome that as well. For either one you can send it directly to our email at: jolene dot macfadden at janiebolith dot info.

We look forward to your submissions, ideas for future posts or even news about our favorite books getting published in eBook format. Till next time KEEP READING

Buy Rose Trevelyan Series in Ebook Format

Rose Trevelyan Series 1-7
Rose Trevelyan Series 1-7
We can now buy the whole Rose Trevelyan Series in eBook format available on Amazon Kindle. Can’t wait for my local library to get their copies. Sadly, the Ian Roper series is not available yet nor any of her stand alone novels. We will just have to keep petitioning Amazon to have the other books moved over to eBook so more people can enjoy them.

I really love a good old fashioned paperback or hardback book to read but now that we are living full-time in our RV and traveling we just do not have the room for books. Thus, I try to find my favorite books on Amazon or available on OVERDRIVE through my local library.

Up and Running for the Holidays

DecHoliday3We are finally up and running for the holidays. At least we hope so. For all the subscribers of the Janie Bolitho Fan Info Blog we have had to make a few changes to the website and our web hosting service. Hopefully, this new service will be more effective than the last two we have tried over the last 6 months. To help with those changes we had to delete our subscribers file and for that we apologize. If you have tried to sign-in before you may have found that you were no longer subscriber to the blog. You can always re-register again.

Ian Roper Fans

KindnessCanKillAre there any Ian Roper fans out there who would be willing to write about the series? I haven’t been able to find any copies of this series written by Janie Bolitho here in the U.S. to read so I cannot offer any opinions on the subject. We want to start more discussions about the writings of Janie Bolitho, her characters, her story lines, etc. Where do you see her characters going after the last book in the series?

News in Cornwall

CornwallEngland7News in Cornwall England has been added to the website in a widget on the sides. We don’t have any other news about the author and we haven’t received any fan fiction from any of our fellow fans in either the Ian Roper or even the Rose Trevelyan series. Either one or both would be greatly appreciated. Since we cannot expect any new stories by our favorite author it is up to us fans to keep her stories alive and share them on this website. And even one of the other stories she has written would be okay too.

Sadly, we cannot find any of her books in our local libraries and the few books we have been able to collect we had to put in storage when we hit the road. There are no eBooks available of the books either except for one place where they scan in the whole book and make it available as a PDF eBook and even read it online. That is the Open Library Organization. “At its heart, Open Library is a catalog. The project began in November 2007 and has been inhaling catalog records from some of the biggest libraries in the world ever since. We have well over 20 million edition records online, provide access to 1.7 million scanned versions of books, and link to external sources like WorldCat and Amazon when we can. The secondary goal is to get you as close to the actual document you’re looking for as we can, whether that is a scanned version courtesy of the Internet Archive, or a link to Powell’s where you can purchase your own copy.” Only two of Ms. Bolitho’s books are available on Open Library that you can read in eBook format and you can read them online, download in Acrobat Reader PDF or even ePub. The PDF file will probably be a larger file as they take the books and scan them in page-by-page into one file.

Till next time. Maybe we will find some of her books in a used book store and be able to add more content to the book pages themselves. But we really would like to have fan fiction stories from writers, non-published writers or just series fans.
