Tour of Cornwall

A Tour of Cornwall would be extremely lovely I think. I was cruising the web wondering what I should blog about and came across the Visit Cornwall promotional website. We have all read about the Cornwall in Rose Trevelyan’s universe and I was wondering if the actual place is anything like what our favorite author writes about. I mean I live in Florida so we are almost always hot, on the coasts we have nice coastal breezes but we have no mountains, cliffs or other interesting high places that might be a little difficult to traverse. The Atlantic Ocean down here is generally fairly warm until about October and cools off quite a bit here in the Northern part of the State. The Gulf of Mexico is calmer most of the time than the Atlantic and offers plenty of opportunities for swimming, fishing and what not most of the year. From the pictures I have seen of the island, it looks to be always pretty cool if not downright cold most of the year. I could be wrong about that.

New Changes to Website

Good evening fellow fans of a great writer, Janie Bolitho. There have been some changes to Amazon’s bookstore function in that they are no longer supporting it. We have deleted the page and updated the entire website with new links for each of the books. We do this both to earn a little money to help keep this website going as well as provide a place for fans to buy the books. We hope you will take a few minutes and look over the website to see some of the changes. Just as an FYI: each of the book’s individual page has the title of the book in a different color. That is a link directly to the corresponding Amazon web page where you can get a copy of that book.

Fan Questions For the Group

Fan questions for the group we received this past month. We thought it would be better to post in the blog so that all the fans of Janie Bolitho could help answer the questions. Below are three emails from two different fans that could use some help answering:

Subject: Ian Roper Series

Hi. I am looking to buy the novels from the Ian Roper series either new or second hand. I have picked up 4 of them for a reasonable price second hand on ebay. I was just wondering if you or your members have any of them for sale. I was also wondering if this series should be read in the order they were written, or are they each just separate stories solved by detective Ian Roper? Thank you.

Buy Rose Trevelyan Series in Ebook Format

Rose Trevelyan Series 1-7
Rose Trevelyan Series 1-7
We can now buy the whole Rose Trevelyan Series in eBook format available on Amazon Kindle. Can’t wait for my local library to get their copies. Sadly, the Ian Roper series is not available yet nor any of her stand alone novels. We will just have to keep petitioning Amazon to have the other books moved over to eBook so more people can enjoy them.

I really love a good old fashioned paperback or hardback book to read but now that we are living full-time in our RV and traveling we just do not have the room for books. Thus, I try to find my favorite books on Amazon or available on OVERDRIVE through my local library.

Up and Running for the Holidays

DecHoliday3We are finally up and running for the holidays. At least we hope so. For all the subscribers of the Janie Bolitho Fan Info Blog we have had to make a few changes to the website and our web hosting service. Hopefully, this new service will be more effective than the last two we have tried over the last 6 months. To help with those changes we had to delete our subscribers file and for that we apologize. If you have tried to sign-in before you may have found that you were no longer subscriber to the blog. You can always re-register again.

Sell Your Janie Bolitho Books

Sweets for My SweetWe have had this fan site up and running for years now and Ms. Bolitho has been gone for over 10 years but we still read her books and wish for more. More and more of her books are disappearing from bookstores, online and in our libraries. That is a real shame, especially since I haven’t had a chance to read any of her stand-alone novels, the Ian Roper series or even the book she released under the alias Jodie Sinclair. Sadly, only three of her Rose Trevelyan books are being offered in eBook format through Amazon. With my mom and I traveling around the state of Florida in our old RV this past year we had to leave all of our paperback and hardback books in storage. There is not a lot of room in an RV for books. We are asking that all of our fellow fans take a few minutes and fill in the blanks around the website. We are asking for more interesting synopsis on all the books, fan fiction using either Ian Roper or Rose Trevelyan as main characters or even a combination of both, we need different pictures of the author and stories about her life and interactions with other people. If you have a Janie Bolitho story we would love to post it on the blog. As you can see from the Home Page we have posted what we have found so far and could use the help.

Still Searching for Info

woundforwoundWe have started a new round of emails and requests for more information on the life and times of our favorite author, Janie Bolitho. We are hoping to create a more comprehensive biography with pictures and video of this wonderful author. The local librarian in Cornwall was very kind to email one of the synopsis of one of the Ian Roper series books but are unable to type up anymore. Since none of those books are available to us here in our local library I was a little disappointed but do really understand. They did offer to copy her obituary from microfiche in the Falmouth Packet which I appreciate but cannot do right at the moment. These are not available online and the local paper hasn’t responded to my request for more information.
